Oliver Langenberg Physician Scientist Training Program “PSTP” at Washington University in St. Louis

About the program

The Oliver Langenberg PSTP, hosted in the Department of Medicine at Washington University, is dedicated to training physicians for illustrious careers in academic medicine. The program’s commitment revolves around three core objectives:

  1. Personalized Training: Development of a customized program combining clinical and research training to meet each trainee’s specific requirements.
  2. Mentorship and Transition: Linking trainees with postgraduate mentors during residency to smoothly transition from clinical to laboratory research training, supported by the program’s strong affiliation with the Division of Biology and Biomedical Sciences at Washington University.
  3. Career Progression: Facilitating the journey of trainees to become independent investigators in their respective fields.

Pediatric Residency

The Langenberg Pediatric PSTP Program, established in 2011, has been generously supported by the Mallinckrodt Foundation since 2013.

Eligibility

This program is designed for physicians who are in the early stages of their residency and demonstrate a strong interest in pursuing a career in academic medicine, blending clinical practice with research.
